Former NDP chief Andrea Horwath has despatched her strongest sign but she’s going to run for mayor of Hamilton within the fall. The longtime MPP for Hamilton Centre dropped hints Monday after Mayor Fred Eisenberger introduced he wouldn’t search re-election Oct. 24. “I’m humbled that Fred considers me a robust candidate for mayor of our nice metropolis,” Horwath stated in an announcement thanking Eisenberger for his years of service. “I’m not prepared right this moment to make any bulletins about Hamilton’s municipal election.
